Built and operated professional-class multitrack recording studio, presented live shows incorporating music and spoken word, produced music records, videos, and web sites as independent label. Designed and maintained web sites for other organizations. Produced, engineered, and played on other artists' records.
Operations Manager. November 2006 to present.
WMRA & WEMC Public Radio. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Maintain and improve the efficient operation of the Enco automation system and SAS router. Ensure consistent program/interstitial capture/creation and delivery. Engineer/direct local shows. Produce promotional and fundraising spots. Schedule and engineer ISDN sessions for other NPR affiliates and the BBC. Train announcers in technical operations. Maintain website. Provide training for, assistance with and maintenance of office computers and audio workstations. On-air host.
Programmed automation and developed procedures when organization took over operation of a second station. Transitioned from previous NPR distribution system (SOSS) to current generation (Content Depot). Moved web site from static design to content management system.

Wrote and announced local breaks during NPR's All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. Technical direction of daily live call-in public affairs show. Responsible for operation of professional broadcasting equipment, including Wavestation automation system and Adobe Audition editor; fulfillment of FCC logging and metering requirements.

WVPT – Virginia’s Public Television. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Did camerawork, lighting, audio production, technical direction, and editing both in studio and in the field. Produced, shot and edited underwriter’s announcements and public service announcements. Produced roll-in pieces for nationally distributed, award-winning program (“Virginia Farming”). Directed segments of live 24-hour telethon. Animated children’s stories for local outreach program (“Reading Rainbow Young Authors and Illustrators Contest”). Directed nightly live call-in public affairs show.
Broadcast Engineer. January 2003 to March 2004.
WVPT – Virginia’s Public Television. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Operated and maintained professional broadcast equipment including 44 Terabyte broadcast server, automation system, various professional tape decks. Responsible for operation of three simultaneous video feeds (both analog and digital) broadcast via seven transmitter sites; recording of satellite feeds, quality assurance, FCC record-keeping. Installed equipment in local public schools. Maintenance of office and broadcast servers, office personal computers.
Master Control Operator. July 2002 to January 2003.
WHSV-TV. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Responsible for playback of programs and interstitial material straight to air. Recorded programs from satellite for time-delayed playback. Tape operator for nightly live news show. Maintained FCC logs and tape library.

Responsible for administrative and on-air duties including scheduling and producing music programs in classical, jazz and world modes; organizing music library; installation, maintenance and use of digital editing and automation systems; training volunteers to use professional broadcast equipment and editing software. Engineered and directed live variety show.

KRBD-FM Public Radio. Ketchikan, Alaska.
Produced / co-hosted weekly live music program, selected and scheduled all music, wrote and narrated program announcements, managed music library and records, operated professional broadcast equipment.
